SpeechTexter first became possible when Google introduced speech input in version 11 of its Chrome browser. The speech input is somewhat revolutionary. Prior to that, pretty much everyone had to type to enter any information into a field in the browser. Speech input changes all of that - allowing you to talk rather than type!
Some may choose to use it because they prefer it to typing. But many will use it because they cannot type. It allows anyone to create text on a computer, regardless of most physical disabilities. If you can click on a button and speak, you can write on a computer!
SpeechTexter allows you to create text for any purpose. You can now speak to write documents, essays, create emails, blog posts, tweets.
SpeechTexter is based on Google's high-end speech-recognition engines. All your speech is sent to Google, there it gets interpreted using powerful parallel servers and algorithms, and gets sent back to SpeechTexter as a stream of possible transcription results. With the right handling of these results and set of commands to the Speech-To-Text engines we are able to achieve results that do not fall in accuracy even when compared to the most professional and expensive software available on the market. Add to that punctuation insertion upon click and voice commands and smart capitalization, and you get one of the most advanced apps out there.
Аccuracy levels higher than 90% should be expected.
To get started, just connect the microphone to your computer and click the Start button.
SpeechTexter uses your browser's local Storage to save all the transcribed text automatically as you speak. That means you can close the browser and it will resume from where you left off.
